Targa Verde is a celebration of cars that were built to be driven — and Southern Vermont in early June is an incredible place to do so. No timing, no leaderboard, and no required livery. The event begins at the Hermitage Club on Friday afternoon. Gates open at three, the event begins at four, dinner is at six, and we don't rush home.
We'll meet again at 7 Saturday morning for Cars & Coffee in the main circle at the front of the Hermitage Club lodge, then head out for a drive on some of the area's best roads.
Located on Haystack Mountain in the Green Mountains of Southern Vermont, the Hermitage Members Club is housed in a spectacular 90,000 square foot Austin Design post-and-beam lodge.
The Hermitage Club offers easy driving access from all East-coast metro areas to 1,400 vertical feet of skiing and snowboarding with five lifts including a heated high-speed six-pack bubble chairlift, a magic carpet in the novice area, and lift-access for lunch hour at the neighboring famous Hermitage Inn.
The Hermitage focuses on cultivating an easy-going camaraderie and a hassle-free respite where you can slow down to the speed of life, year round. Learn more about the Hermitage Club ↗
Saturday begins at 7 am with Cars & Coffee in the main circle at the front of the Hermitage Club lodge. From there, we recommend a self-directed drive west to the Equinox Skyline — a five-mile climb of switchbacks and second-gear hairpins.
The Skyline Drive charges a toll at the gate — $25 per vehicle, $5 per additional passenger, children under 10 free. Cash or card.
On the way back, we recommend stopping at HoneyPie in Jamaica, Vermont — top-tier burgers and shakes served out of a former petrol station. Pull in, park up, and trade notes from the morning's drive.
Entries selected by hand. Tell us about your car, the road you'd drive it on, and why this Friday afternoon in particular.
